TWO DAY DRIVER EXPERIENCE COURSE
This course has been designed to be of both practical and theoretical value.
On the first day, there will be talks and demonstrations on Safety, Signalling and locomotive operation, and a visit to the shed to inspect our locomotive fleet. You will travel to Wroxham and back in a train to gain knowledge of our route, part of this journey being taken alongside the driver in the locomotive cab.
In the afternoon, you will gain experience with handling the locomotive, getting the "feel" of the controls with a short run just outside Aylsham.
The second day starts with the preparation of the locomotive. Two return journeys to Wroxham which will allow you at least nine miles at the controls.
To give each course member as much experience as possible, we limit numbers to four participants per course.
This two day course costs £250, (deposit of £75*) which includes lunch on each day, a course manual including detailed diagrams, 1 years free membership of the supporters organisation - The "Friends of the Bure Valley Railway
